French Riviera

Val d' Azur

Val d' Azur is a private domain of single-family homes on the French Riviera, from studios to large estates, all constructed in Mediterranean style with pergolas, gardens, stucco walls, tile roofs, and private patios. This quiet community enjoys extensive greenery, mountain and ocean views, a large swimming pool, and three clay tennis courts for reserved play. Property owners are French, British, German, Dutch, Norwegian, Swedes and other northern Europeans who vacation on the Côte d'Azur for the sun, cuisine and Provencal lifestyle. Neighbors and vacationers are invariably friendly and fluent in English.

Location

The domain is located in the foothills above Antibes, just inland from Cannes and Nice, midway between the medieval villages of Biot and Valbonne. The picturesque towns of Mougins and St. Paul-de-Vence are nearby. Less crowded than the coastal communities, this residential area offers the opportunity to step back into an earlier age of billowing olive trees, perched villages, humming cicadas, and beautiful vistas. Nevertheless, the pleasures of the seaside and its lively cities remain in close proximity, as well as destinations like St. Tropez (2hrs), Aix-en-Provence (2hrs), Portofino (4hrs), Milano (3hrs), Lake Como (4hrs), Florence (6hrs).

The Villa

The Villa is a compact 2-Bedroom/2-Bath, single family home on two levels in a cul-de-sac location. There is a Landscaped Garden with nearby hillside views, and a Sunny, Secluded Terrace with BBQ, private outdoor shower overlooking the pétanque court, attractive patio furniture and chaise lounges. On the ground floor are a Modern Kitchen with complete sets of cookware, tableware and serving pieces, an Open Living/Dining Room with vaulted ceiling, tile floor and french doors to the terrace, and a Master Bedroom with queen bed, built-in closet and fully tiled bath with his/her sinks. Spiral stairs lead to a Mezzanine/Sitting Room with single fold-out chair/bed, and a Guest Bedroom with double bed and separate bath. Interior furnishings are tastefully designed, comfortable and contemporary. The mirrors, tile floor, Wide Terrace and soft white decor combine to give a spacious and inviting feeling to the villa and make it an easy, comfortable base for visiting the Cote d’Azur. Additional color photos of the Villa and surrounding villages available on request.

What to Bring

The villa is furnished similarly to a hotel, with soaps, bed linens, bath and pool towels. The kitchen is completely equipped and there is a washing machine (sun dry). Two tennis rackets, tennis balls, and a set pétanque balls are provided. In terms of clothing, please note that weather conditions are similar to southern California and that casual dress is quite acceptable year-round.

Rates

Please call for information on rates, which vary with the season and length of stay. There is a one-time villa cleaning and preparation fee to the on-site villa manager. Guests pay for their own local and European telephone calls, which are metered during their stay. Calls to the US should be charged to the Guest’s own credit card as this is less expensive than the French rates. During winter months, Guests pay for the utilities.

Management

The local managers fully prepare the villa for your arrival, give you the keys and a tour of the property, and answer all your questions. On your departure, they will clean the villa for you.
